2010 Goals and Committees
United Methodist MenGCUMM.org
This is a web site to learn more about the UMM.
Chairman ____Hal Stephenson______
Co-Chairman ____Mike Cabiness_____
Treasurer _____Larry Villars_______
Secretary ____Chris Morton________
Chaplain ____Mike Seamon_________
Two Main Goals for the UMM to strive for in 2010;
1. Strengthen the outreach of this group through building relationships with other men of all ages and become more centralized in Jesus Christ.
2. Develop a culture in LHUMC that every man should become involved in the UMM events and activities striving to strengthen our organization.
Committees to look into that support these goals.
Young Men’s Committee: Revised to Events Committee:
This group will continue to plan activities that target 25 to 40 year old men in our church. This group may decide to hold separate meetings. Examples of these activities are the fishing trips, day trips to concerts or big brother events with the members of our congregation.
Fund Raising Committee:
This group will plan and initiate the cook outs or any other fund raising events the group plans to undertake. This group should plan at least a quarterly cookout. Other events might include golf tournaments, raffles, or auctions.
Communications Committee:
This group will create a list of all the men in the church. The list will highlight the active members. The group will create a call tree to communicate to members of the congregation. A video sub-committee should develop a series of videos to view at church functions to highlight the events of the UMM. Communicate with the church all of our functions through the newsletter or web site.
Visitation Committee:
This group will coordinate a visitation plan to focus on visiting our congregation.
Special Events Committee:
This group will develop special events for the whole group (Youth and traditional) to meet together. Planning outings with other churches in the area may be a focus of this group. Other ideas are holding concerts or men’s weekends. Possible planned mission groups we commit to support in 2010.

Spanish Mackerel Fishing Trip

We have five boats secured for our fishing trip. We had to cancel due to bad weather March 28, 2009. This is open to all men that enjoy getting out and having a fun day on the water. We have some very seasoned fishermen that are guiding us on this event. This event really should be fun for all ages. Secure your boat position early. The positions will be limited to first come basis. If you have a boat and would like to be a captain, please let us know. Here is a preview of what we could catch on this trip.
Thank you Troy Nevins and George Stewart for the picture. They decided not to cancel their trip and what a nice fish.

Men's shooting event.
On February 22, a group of men gathered to attend a skeet shooting event. We traveled to Tyndall Air Force Base and begin an exciting afternoon of firing our guns at poor little skeet. Some of the other guys even hit a few. It was a super fun time. We had men and their sons, friends from all over and alot of men that were first time attendees to a men's event.
This is one of many events that the United Methodist Men's group has planned for the year. These events are for everyone and we invite you to become a part of our movement to bring more men to Christ and lead Lynn Haven United Methodist Church to establish a culture of men helping men. I am sure most of you have had a best friend and confidant in your life. This group of men will enable you to strengthen your walk with Christ through building christian relationships.
